How we vet the contractors we recommend

Need your septic or well inspected or repaired?

We can connect you with a septic and well contractor to come look at it or fix it. Whether it failed inspection, has a known problem, or you just want it checked before you sell: fill this out and we'll match you with one. We check every contractor's license, insurance, and track record first — most don't make the cut — then pick the right fit for your situation. One solid match, not a pile of calls from strangers.

We collect only what a contractor needs to reach you and do the work. Not sold to anyone else. Privacy & terms.

Prefer to sell instead of repair?

Some homeowners decide a repair isn't worth it and would rather sell the property as-is. If that's you, we can pass your information to a buyer we personally vet and work with directly — buyers like this typically respond quickly, though we can't promise a specific time.

We earn a referral fee if you go this route. We're telling you that up front because we think you should know.

We do not rank contractors by who pays us, and we never call anyone “the best.” We tell you what we have actually verified, what we have only observed, and — over time — how contractors have performed on real requests.

Three kinds of information, kept separate

Before a contractor is listed

  1. Their service and the property's county match.
  2. Any licence the work legally requires is verified and current.
  3. They are on the state's licensed or registered list and not on its suspended list.
  4. Their stated coverage area and contact details are consistent and reachable.

Inspector and repair contractor are separate

Missouri rule requires a licensed inspector to tell you that you are not obligated to use that same inspector for any repairs the assessment turns up. HomeCleared keeps those roles separate on purpose: the person who diagnoses a problem is not the person angling for the repair job, and the choice of who does the work is always yours.

What we will and will not say

Corrections and appeals

A contractor can correct their identity, licence, service-area, or outcome information at any time. A dispute about how a contractor is described or matched is reviewed by a person, and the decision is recorded. To raise one, email corrections@homecleared.com.
